Turning the Word into an Image
As a Christian, I find it fascinating to explore the Bible through painting, transforming scripture into visual stories that can be experienced beyond the written word. Through these murals, I seek to turn verses into images, bringing their messages to life in a way that invites people to pause, reflect and engage.
Painting scripture in public spaces is particularly meaningful to me because it brings the Word beyond the walls of a church or religious building and into the everyday lives of people passing by. Art can create unexpected moments of connection, opening up conversations between people who might otherwise never engage with these texts. I find it deeply rewarding to see people stop in the street, look at the imagery, ask questions or simply take a moment to reflect.
For me, these murals are about more than illustrating biblical passages. They are an opportunity to share my faith through art, make scripture accessible in a different way, and create a bridge between the sacred and the everyday. By bringing the Word into public spaces, I hope to encourage curiosity, dialogue and reflection, allowing these ancient texts to speak to people in new and meaningful ways.
